As per the assignment, choose 1 response from any of the 11 candidates (I know the assignment said 3, but I've changed it to 1) that resonated with you, and discuss! Along with writing your own comment, you must also respond to someone else.
I resonated with Carson's statement over vaccines. He states that it is scientifically proven that vaccines don't correlate with autism. I think that the preconceived notions of viewing medicines and vaccines as dangerous puts even more people in harm.
I think people should be able to decide wheather or not they want vaccinations. Its not up to the government to force that upon people similar to what theyre doing currently.
One moment that resonated was when Christie said "You're both successful. Congratulations. You know who's not successful? The middle class in this country" in regards to Fiorina and Trump. I think he was being mature in adressing that the bickering between the two is immature and irrelevant and that there are bigger issues than Fiorina's face and Trump's childish comments.
Jeb Bush pointed out that although Trump is a very successful business man , he cannot be trusted negotiating Irans nuclear weapons . Trumps campaign emphasizes his possibilities of fixing the economy . He prioritized our economy mean while we have other calamities .
Rubio had this concensus of whar Russia is attempting to do through their involvement in thw Middle East. He stated that Russia was intervening primarily to rebuild their empire, he said that they were going to say "America is no longer a superpower therefore, we're here to aid. His assertion really made sense to me but it wasnt clear what he was planning on doing about this if Russia were to do this. Hopefully his beliefs arent as extreme as fiorina.
Some candidates, such as Christie, Trump and etc talked about defunding planned parenthood. I think the candidates over exaggerated what planned parenthood is and what it does for low income women and men. Planned parenthood isn't only about abortions, in fact it only makes 3%, so I think these candidates need to be wise with their word choices because this is on national television and it will definitely change the perspective of many people watching.
The argument that resonated with me is when Carson spoke about politicians having "their finger in the air," waiting to do what is politically expedient. Politicians, i doubt, will voice their true opinions, if it goes against the opinion of the majority of their targeted audience.
